Plans for the Authentica Art Gallery
In 2024, we will complete the renovations of the upstairs 2-bedroom apartment of the Authentica Art Gallery for short-term residencies by artists and scholars who are researching, creating new works, and engaging with visitors to the Clemmons Farm. The building was originally built in the early 1800s and served as a blacksmith shop on the farm.
In 2025, we will clear out the lower level and do minor renovations that will include installing bookshelves to provide a reading room space for more than 400 beautiful books, for children and adults, about African American and African diaspora art and culture that have been donated to Clemmons Family Farm, Inc. over the years.
We also plan to do landscaping around the building to include flower gardens, a patio, and outdoor benches for visitors.
