Plans for the Big Barn

The renderings below, by Zena Howard of the architecture firm Perkins & Will, show three views of the 1880s Big Barn on the Clemmons Farm as a future African Diaspora Visual and Performing Arts Center.  Grants from the National Park Service and Mellon Foundation have provided funds to support some of the upgrades to the lower level of the two-story barn for an art gallery, artist studio, and community meeting space that will be completed in 2026.  Clemmons Family Farm will launch a fundraising campaign in 2026 to support upgrades to the upper level of the Big Barn as a performing arts space, and to the exterior of the Big Barn that will serve as an outdoor performance space and community park.
Below:  Watch the video sharing highlights of Clemmons Family Farm's Big Barn Design Charette with architect Zena Howard and members of the Vermont African American/African Diaspora Artists Network (VAAADAN).
