This is the best kept secret in the area. Get the word out, especially to the schools
Fantastic place and exhibits
#2
Wonderful Thank you for doing this! It is a work of love for sure
#3
I marvel at the beauty of everyday objects
Get the word out about this beautiful place
Docents were fabulous
#4
Very pleasant
The program was very good and the docent knowledgeable. Always wondered about Authentica but never knew of the Clemmons. Been in VT since 1974

#6
This was an extraordinary opportunity that I didn't know existed.
#7
Separate the history from the art!! You lose the continuity and don't get to enjoy the art as much.
#8
Some of the art is difficult to view due to the positioning of pieces within window frames – backlighting too strong
#9
I am proud to live near this treasure – thanks
I will recommend to my family to stay here
#10
I thoroughly enjoyed the beauty and the art and the information
This would be great for families and school classes. Having special events of field trips would help spread the word about this gem of a place in the backyard of locals as well as being on the Heritage Trail for visitor
Also, advertise in the Addison Independent and other neighboring community papers

I learned even more than I previously knew.
Can you eventually make the museum handicapped accessible?
#14
This farm is a jewel among my everyday experiences
You should brag more. Let people know you are here.
#15
There was so much to hear about and see. I was in awe much of the time. So impressive.

Thank you so much for hosting. This is what community means to me. Intimate safe spaces to share in creativity and hope with friendly neighbors who care and express concern and love.
#24
Wanted more time and history explained
Really hard to find it and to find where to park. Need signage
#25
I am inspired by the art and the artistry of the house. Really, in awe.
A little more signage
I am going to suggest collaborations to other arts organizations
#26
I appreciate the opportunity to visit the house barn, see Mrs. C's art collections. All wonderful
It might be a incentive for visitors (at least for barn tour) if the donation could be tax-deductible. If I continue to bring my guests here, I'd prefer to write a check to the Clemmons Family Farm non-profit rather than paying Eventbrite
#27
It is very interesting, I've had many college age internationals in my home in Iowa!
#28
I felt that the relation between an A-A owned farm (unique) and an A-A cultural center was artificial
#29
Been coming to Charlotte all my life and this is the first time here! I remember seeing the Authentic African imports sign and being curious but never inquired.
More outreach to spread the word locally. (I will start by putting the word out on Thompson's Point) Especially post things about the cultural events. We are always looking for things to do/attend.

Maybe mention more about the project/programs that brought the couple to those various African countries Highlights about the countries/cultures of the places they bought items back from.

#33
To have the stories more interspersed with the artifacts so it is a more multi-sensory experience
#34
I loved hearing about the Clemmons Family stories and motivations for creating a multi-cultural center.
As a Middlebury student this is the first time I have heard about the farm but I believe many students and departments would be interested in the work done here – perhaps advertise/work with the college more if that is helpful?

The diversity of the origins of the artwork was truly fascinating as we were able to perceive the differences between cultures. I really enjoyed the tour and thought it gave us a great insight into the family's history and role in the community
Being able to meet Lydia (the daughter) was truly wonderful and her storytelling capacities were great.
#37
I enjoyed the very warm welcome and the feeling of doing a house tour but one that tells a profound story as well
#38
Incredible story, property, and collection
Just having a concrete catalog of items would be good
#39
I enjoyed learning about the design of the farmhouse a lot
I would suggest the tour guide not refer to Africa as if it is just one “place” It's a huge and diverse continent
#40
I was very moved by meeting Lydia and Jackson on my tour. They literally embodied everything that I learned.

Specificity on where the items are when summarizing all from west Africa it seems
Connect the ownership figures in U.S. To Black population. In short what is percentage of Blacks in U.S. Otherwise it seems like everyone's owning but them. Include figure of Latin-American owned farmers
Connect life of the Black bourgeoise which the Clemmons are, to the life of the Black working people
The Clemmons are Hard-working visionaries but also blessed to be literate and ??? and from a middleclass family which without that note can create the impression the “anyone” with come know-how can do it
Finally, I love the house, Lydia, Kay and the mission
#42
I appreciated the pace and positive tone o the program and the informal arrangement of art.
#43
I appreciated learning about and appreciating the Clemmon's family effort
A sign outside to let visitors know which place it is
Info about parking before someone comes
Ask for intros at beginning of tour a where people are from
#44
I am grateful to discover this resource that I had no idea was here.
It seems like a wonderful space for community gatherings and storytelling

I found the whole event enlightening – from learning about Dr. Clemmons walking out to Charlotte to the unfortunate (worse than unfortunate) experience of the co-host from Bennington to the impressive words and thoughts of the two young writers. All awesome.
Keep doing what you're doing. Thank you!
#53
Really enjoyed the experience of being inspired by someone else's artistic experience.
Keep doing them! Such as asset to our community Thank you.
#54
I liked the flow of the workshop. The freedom to create over a period of time and the good humor.
More of the same. Thank you
#55
Loved it
#56
We would love to visit again
Thank you for your work! There are little to no cultural experiences like this in Vermont and this (Clemmons Family Farm) is so needed! Keep going!!
#57
I loved the sense of unity that I felt while I was at the farm, and how welcoming it was.
Keep the same programs, don't stop, we need more of this statewide!
#58
This experience allowed me to understand different forms of art.
Keep doing what you're doing
#59
I can't wait to bring more people here!
#60
So informative. Great to learn about Clemmons Family and how this great and beautiful space developed I'm going to share with everyone. Gem of a history and space.
Docent was great. Concept is amazing. I think racism can be more explicitly discussed in tour as part of history of family in VT and at UVM
#61
I really enjoyed the tour/visit. Susan was an excellent guide.
It was wonderful to get together with Lydia and Dr. Jackson Clemmons afterward. I greatly appreciated the opportunity to have open discussions about diversity and race.
I nee to learn more about the programs first (re: advice or recommendations question)
#62
I never knew much about African American history in Vermont before and it was amazing to discover the history.
I would want more things I could read about the artifacts and architecture of the home.
I would have also loved a walk of the grounds in the tour.
Amazing experience
