The Old Water Cistern in the Big Barn

Thanks to grants from ArtPlace America and the Vermont Division of Historic Preservation, the Clemmons Family Farm will be able to save the beautiful old wooden water cistern in the Big Barn from falling through rotting floorboards. The cistern will be repaired and positioned so that it is more visible, enabling visitors to enjoy this unique artisanal treasure when the Big Barn becomes open for tours in 2020.
Above:  Watch this excerpt from Episode 2 of "Making History, Creating Place" where Jackson and Lydia Clemmons talk with Eliot Lothrop of Building Heritage about the old water cistern!
