Feedback from other Vermont Community Members

Thank you SO much for your hospitality, also for your thoughtful words and insight.  The children's book author Donna Sherard so graciously gave me some of her personal time.  Please greet the Drs. Jackson and Lydia Clemmons with a hug for me.

I am the target audience your organization is seeking to retain in Vermont. Thankfully, I learned of the Clemmons Family Farm through a new friend this past April.  Prior to my first visit to your farm in May, I was seriously considering submitting my transfer request from Vermont due to the lack of advancement opportunities at my place of work here in Vermont.

After having visited the Farm this past May, I am now re-evaluating my plans to move from Vermont and am exploring strategies for advancement either within or outside of my current job. I am currently an online MBA student at a local academic institution.  The brief conversations that we've had this past Sunday has blown fresh wind under my sails.

I have been very discouraged with the narrow-mindedness that I routinely encounter at work since my arrival in four years ago.  I have been living in "survival mode" since then.  I am determined not to let the narrow-mindedness of people dictate my earning potential and hence, my ability to grow and make a positive impact in my community.  Also, I've had to face the fact that I can and must do more to "build up" my community - which is to interact with people/organizations whom/that I can actively support in worthwhile causes/endeavors.

My heart was glad to hear directly from Dr. Jackson Clemmons of how he came to purchase the farm, which I will always treasure and will count as a great honor.  I pray for the success of every endeavor as the Clemmons Family Farm transitions to a nonprofit organization.  There is so much RICH soil, both spiritual and natural, at the farm.  I am so happy to have found out about the farm before I submitted my transfer (God moves mysteriously).

Again, thank you SO much for your hospitality.  You have encouraged me more than you know.  My hope is to return the favor in honor of the greatness the Clemmons family and Farm have added to the State of Vermont for over fifty years and counting.  I wish you a wonderful rest of this Sunday and a marvelous week ahead.

Warmest Regards,
